The Alternatives to Incarceration program provides sentencing alternatives and pre-trial supervision to the courts for appropriate offenders and defendants. Sentencing alternatives are used to divert selected offenders from incarceration. These individuals are placed in non-jail detention, which may be accompanied by electronic monitoring or phone monitoring. Treatment or community service are other options which may be ordered. Offenders referred to this program are carefully monitored to ensure community safety and compliance with court orders.
Divert appropriate offenders and defendants from the jail and ease overcrowding.
Make offenders and defendants experience and accept responsibility for their actions and attitudes.
Control and monitor offenders released on bond or bail.
Help individuals cope with their anger through participation in Alternatives to Aggression.
Closer coordination of efforts after being moved under control of the Sheriff Department - County Jail.
