ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

OPERATING AUTHORITY AND PURPOSE

Planning and Development is the contact with the Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC). Ongoing services provided by RCEDC include:

Develop, maintain, update, and distribute comprehensive inventories of available commercial and industrial land and buildings, including individual sites and business parks, to assist in business expansions.

Develop, implement, and maintain marketing and business attraction programs designed to inform potential new firms of the advantages of doing business in Racine County.

Provide access to long term fixed rate gap financing through RCEDC's Small Business Administration (SBA) programs, Racine County Revolving Loan Fund, and State and Federal programs.

Maintain and provide information and assistance in establishing a comprehensive labor force, education programs, and dealing with employment-related problems.

Perform ongoing one-on-one business retention visits designed to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for local businesses.
